FAQ
How is Compute different from Container?
Compute reserves a machine and bills for the reservation, so the machine is always warm. Container bills only while it runs, to the second, and can sleep between requests. Reserve when a workload must stay warm; use Container when it is bursty.
Do I need to know how to administer a server?
No. You choose a size and push code. The operating system, the container engine, the reverse proxy, TLS, DNS, backups and monitoring are run by S Technologies.
Can I bring my own Dockerfile?
Yes. If the repository declares one, it is built as written. If not, the framework is detected and built against a template S Technologies maintains.
What happens if I size it wrong?
Vertical autoscaling compares the allocation with what the workload actually used. An undersized container is reported as a recommendation.
Is there a minimum spend?
No. Compute is metered and nothing else.
